Premier League Week 15: Predictions, Odds and Results
EPL Week 15 Pintsized Background
Welcome one and all to the penultimate week of Premier League action before the 2022 World Cup kicks off in Qatar. With injury blows to Reece James, Bukayo Saka and Ben Chilwell, Gareth Southgate will be crossing his fingers that Premier League Week 15 is a tame affair.
The pick of the matches for EPL Week 15 pits Chelsea and Arsenal in a top-table struggle. Manchester City is breathing heavily down Arsenal’s neck for the #1 spot, while Graham Potter will be keen to bounce back after suffering the ignominy of losing to former club Brighton under a hail of jeers. Notts Forest vs Brentford
Pintsized
From the heights of beating Liverpool, to the trenches of a 5-0 spanking to Arsenal. It’s a coin flip regarding Forest’s starting XI and approach, owing to Steve Cooper’s pick’n’mix side of summer signings. Brentford has proved frustratingly hit-and-miss as well, yet a string of injuries to first-teamers somewhat explain poor performances. Losing Ivan Toney to suspension is a huge blow, however.
Prediction: 1-0
Ryan
Talk about a match of bottom feeders. This has all the potential of an uneventful calamity of an affair. What do you get when you combine the whipping boys of the league with an impotent attacking force? You get a goalless draw between Forest and Brentford.
Prediction: 0-0
Steviano
Forest had tightened up defensively and then get hammered at the Gunners last time out – Brentford are inconsistent at the moment so it might allow a home point here.
Prediction: 2-2

Wolves vs Brighton
Pintsized
Freshly signed this morning, ex-Real Madrid gaffer, Julen Lopetegui, has finally accepted his role as Wolves manager. It feels as though Wolves require something more akin to magic to kickstart their wheezing attack but there aren’t many matches until the January transfer window. De Zerbi earned his win for Brighton in a big match on paper, yet two early own goals saw Chelsea hand the win over – questions remain.
Prediction: 0-0
Ryan
It looks like Wolves might finally get their man in Lopetegui at the helms. They need more than a new manager though but a point away at Brentford is definitely a valuable one. Brighton pissed all over Potter’s homecoming with a 4-1 dismantling. It’s always risky backing Brighton to score goals with their inconsistencies but with a not so stern defence in their way, this is a good opportunity for shooting practice.
Prediction: 0-2
Steviano
Not sure if Brighton can repeat their heroics against Chelsea last week but they should bring confidence against a Wolves team bereft of leadership and goals which is a dangerous combination – the World Cup break can’t come quick enough for them.
Prediction: 0-2

Manchester City vs Fulham
Pintsized
It wasn’t a majestic mid-week performance from Man City against Sevilla, but Pep’s tactical tweaks at the half-time allowed youngster, Rico Lewis, to stamp out a career performance. Expect the 17-year-old to earn some minutes throughout the season after repaying the manager’s trust. Fulham endured a rare goalless game against Everton, but it speaks far more to the latter’s refusal to play anything other than set-piece ball.
Prediction: 4-1
Ryan
Normally the question would be how many goals will the home team score. And in every aspect this should be the case against Fulham. However, it was a bit of a scrape job against Leicester whilst Fulham held firm against Everton to add another point to their tally. Fulham have actually impressed on their umpteenth return to the top flight and they’ll give it a go at the Etihad. That won’t be enough for the visitors.
Prediction: 4-1
Steviano
Fulham is on a nice four-match unbeaten streak albeit against bottom-half teams but they are doing what they need to do to stay up. The Etihad should be a game too far and I expect a comfortable home win.
Prediction: 4-1

Leeds vs Bournemouth
Pintsized
In a season that has seen many of the big boys fall to humble opposition, Leeds continued the trend with a late winner away at Liverpool. Jesse Marsch still finds himself on borrowed time, strange when considering the lack of quality replacements for Leeds. Bournemouth was unlucky to drop points against Spurs, but the signs are positive that Gary O’Neil will be able to slow the rot of their 3-match slide.
Prediction: 1-1
Ryan
This might be a relegation six pointer with both teams well in the bottom half of the table. Leeds did the unthinkable and shocked the world at Anfield. Bournemouth very nearly did the same but contrived to do a Spurs against… Spurs. Their morale is now stuck on the floor and Leeds newfound confidence should bring them a routine win.
Prediction: 2-0
Steviano
Bournemouth are in a slump and travel to an Elland Rd buoyed by a victory over Liverpool last time – Marsch’s men to march on and put another nail in the Gary O’Neill for manager coffin.
Prediction: 2-1

Everton vs Leicester City
Pintsized
On the one hand, Everton’s low block will invite a ton of pressure against Leicester’s overloads on the wings. On the other, the Toffees have proven themselves to be capable of counter-attacks which should punish a porous Leicester defence.
Prediction: 1-1
Ryan
If you look at the season so far, Everton’s results against teams outside the Top 6 is pretty solid. A point at Fulham isn’t the most attractive but certainly better than nothing. Leicester put up a fight against the champions but inevitably fell to high quality. They’ll fancy their better chances at Goodison Park but the home side will also be up for it and in better shape to complete their mission.
Prediction: 2-1
Steviano
Everton are proving hard to beat under Frank although not too exciting going the other way – Leicester are picking up at last and were unlucky against City not to snatch a point. Draw written all over it.
Prediction: 1-1

Chelsea vs Arsenal
Pintsized
Chelsea’s injury list makes for some dire reading – Kepa Arrizabalaga, Ben Chilwell, Wesley Fofana, Reece James and N’Golo Kante. In their place are solid replacements, but facing a full-strength Arsenal side is a task too large. Kieran Tierney will be able to build off a strong mid-week performance against FC Zurich.
Prediction: 0-2
Ryan
A big match in a very unusual Sunday lunchtime slot. Arsenal have been really good this season but a lot of their big victories have been at home, last week being a case in point. Going to Stamford Bridge will be a big test for Arteta’s boys, particularly with Chelsea coming off a humiliating defeat. They’ll be out for blood after an unacceptable display last weekend. It may be foolhardy going against Arsenal at the moment but I fancy Chelsea to bounce back in a big way.
Prediction: 2-1
Steviano
Perhaps Mr Potter was confused by the quick return to Brighton for what was a humiliating defeat – injuries to James and Chilwell derailed Chelsea last season and look to do the same this time. That said I expect a reaction from Chelsea in a derby and this should be the game of the weekend.
Prediction: 2-2

Aston Villa vs Manchester United
Pintsized
Aston Villa and Argentina fans join each other in praying that Emiliano Martinez can return to the pitch as soon as possible. The Villians were overawed by Newcastle and are left no time to recover before facing a rejuvenated giant in Manchester United. A 1-0 victory at Real Sociedad away wasn’t enough to top the Europa League group, but the emergence of Alejandro Garnacho will provide much-needed competition for Jadon Sancho.
Prediction: 1-3
Ryan
Welcome back Unai Emery to the Premier League. Plenty of good ebenings lie ahead. The Villa faithful will be hoping for fortunes to change after a demolition at Newcastle. Visiting Man United won’t make things easy. They made hard work of West Ham but eventually got the job done, showcasing character not seen for a good few years. Ten Haag’s tricky Reds are on a really good unbeaten run currently and they’ll back that to continue this weekend.
Prediction: 0-2
Steviano
I don’t think Emery’s arrival will be able to lift an underperforming Villa enough to register a result for this one – United are starting to take shape under Ten Hag and are only a point of top 4 which will be the aim for this season.
Prediction: 1-3
Return to EPL Week 15 Predictions
Southampton vs Newcastle
Pintsized
Without Bella-Kotchap, it’s difficult to see Southampton holding strong under the duress of Newcastle’s dynamic front three. Allan Saint-Maximin should find himself near match-fit again, taking some of the attacking load off surprise star, Miguel Almiron.
Prediction: 0-1
Ryan
Newcastle are very much in the race for Europe. There’s a good argument to be made that the Top 6 turns into the Top 7 with their inclusion. Turning over Villa highlights their positivity right now. They’ll look to repeat that feat at St Mary’s against a struggling Southampton. An innocuous loss to Crystal Palace doesn’t improve the situation on the south coast and nor will the travelling Geordies.
Prediction: 1-3
Steviano
The Toon are justifiably flying high and have recruited well with an actual playing strategy in mind [it’s not rocket science] and visit a Southampton who continue to dig out unexpected results, good or bad, but I don’t expect anything other than an away win.
Prediction: 1-2

West Ham vs Crystal Palace
Pintsized
Pablo Fornals is a very beautiful man, that is all. Lovely to see David Moyes throw the youth on at an unfashionable away fixture in Bucharest and still earn a comfortable victory. Rice and Soucek have renewed their brick-wall partnership in the midfield, while Gianluca Scamacca continues to become accustomed to the Premier League pace. Palace scratched a win against Southampton, yet Patrick Vieira is making a career of stealing games – a valuable quality.
Prediction: 2-0
Ryan
This prediction is based off the previous few seasons fixtures where they seemingly end in score draws. West Ham were a bit unlucky not to take anything out of Old Trafford but pride. Crystal Palace meanwhile come into this game on the back of a victory against Southampton. Both teams will fancy this but the punters will fancy an almost inevitable draw.
Prediction: 1-1
Steviano
Both teams sit mid-table which is more of an achievement for the Eagles compared to the Hammers summer investments although injuries have hampered progress somewhat. Home win in what should be an enjoyable game.
Prediction: 2-1
Return to EPL Week 15 Predictions
Tottenham vs Liverpool
Pintsized
Spurs looked to be unravelling after dropping points to Manchester United and Newcastle but recent wins over Marseille and Bournemouth evidence Conte’s ugly football remains a winner. Liverpool is a complete mess every week, with an impressive 2-0 win over Napoli on Tuesday offering little hope for a permanent turnaround in form.
Prediction: 1-1
Ryan
Let’s get one thing straight – Spurs are not a very good team. They constantly need to be losing to play and even then, they’re not overly attractive to watch. Yes they came back against Bournemouth but that was more about the lesser opposition they were playing as opposed to their own good play. Speaking of teams that aren’t very good, their opponents Liverpool really cannot do it against so-called lesser opposition. Not only failing to beat Leeds but actually losing to them is a bad sign. So why have I gone for the draw? Whilst Liverpool seem to up their game against better teams (Man United aside), Spurs cannot be trusted to get the job done whatsoever.
Prediction: 1-1
Steviano
Spurs to bully the midfield whilst the attack is weakened with the loss of Son and Richarlison, should be enough to grind out a result against a Liverpool team riddled with injuries and a dreadful lack of consistency.
Prediction: 2-1
