2021/22 Premier League Predictions: Matchday 33
Pintsized Background
EMERGENCY ALERT. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. SEAN DYCHE IS NO LONGER BURNLEY MANAGER.
In what could be the biggest head-scratcher of the season, Burnley has decided to remove their beloved manager of a decade with eight games left in a relegation scrap. Good luck finding anyone as capable or willing to invest their efforts into keeping Burnley’s shoestring budget anywhere near PL contention. Everton fans can finally breathe easily with survival all but confirmed.

Premier League Predictions: Matchday 33
Friday, 16 February
Tottenham (#4, 57pts) vs Brighton (#11, 37pts)
Pintsized
Of course, it had to be Arsenal that allowed a free-falling Brighton squad to find their first win in eight matches. Brighton is one of the better travelling squads in the league, but Conte has turned Tottenham Hotspur Stadium stadium into a formidable fortress. Kulusevski looks to be a real bright spark that will seal Spurs a Champions League spot.
Prediction: 2-0
Ryan
It looks like Spurs are close to clinching Top 4 with their current win streak making a difference at the right time. I’ll stop going on about the legitimacy of their positioning in the table but it won’t change my opinion. Brighton did them a favour last week against Arsenal and they’ll probably do them a favour here by giving them a hard-fought win.
Prediction: 2-1
Steviano
Prediction:

Man United (#7, 51pts) vs Norwich (#20, 21pts)
Pintsized
Coin Flip-chester United are anyone’s guess as to what they will produce on the day. For a team that sorely underperforms considering the individual quality of their players, there has to be a clear path to the end of the season. Stop featuring players who are out of contract in the summer while giving the youth game time in a dead season. Dean Smith continues to tinker in what seems a futile season, but as seen against Burnley, the Canaries still pack a peck.
Prediction: 3-1
Ryan
This United fan is looking forward to the season being over. It’s certainly been the worst since the Moyes year, arguably worse given the supposed difference between the squads. Until there’s a massive change from top to bottom and not just with manager, it’ll continue to be the same. Speaking of consistency, Norwich continue to battle relegation whenever they fancy spending time in the top flight. A pointless up and down team indeed. I don’t trust United to win any more games this season but Norwich surely won’t be strong enough here so I’ll go for another disappointing draw.
Prediction: 0-0

Prediction:

Watford (#19, 22pts) vs Brentford (#13, 36pts)
Pintsized
Watford toils away to ensure that they will end up on the bottom of the table. A dreadful squad that lost any form of attacking potency that they enjoyed under Claudio Ranieri. Brentford has finally adapted after a yo-yo start to Premier League life. The Church of Ivan Toney is starting to fill.
Prediction: 1-3
Ryan
In the same vein as Norwich, Watford have a penchant for a short stay in the Premiership with a tendency to travel to the Championship frequently. This should once again be the case this season with not much hope at all. Brentford are on a good run and look to have deservedly sealed their status in the top flight for next season. I’ll predict them to continue their good form here.
Prediction: 0-2

Prediction:

Southampton (#14, 36pts) vs Arsenal (#5, 54pts)
Pintsized
Why is it always Southampton that ends up lumped with the FIFA scorelines? A 6-0 hammering to Chelsea will have stung Hasenhuttl, but the Austrian has shown countless times before that he can rebound. Arsenal is picking up the pieces after back-to-back defeats to Crystal Palace and Brighton – dare I say… Arteta is finally being exposed again? With Arsenal’s main fullbacks out, their system looks exposed at the back.
Prediction: 1-1
Ryan
The police on the south coast must have had a busy night investigating the assault that took place last weekend. Then again the Saints are used to a hammering now and again. Arsenal are showing their inconsistency that’ll improve next season with extra experience. It’s probably the perfect time for the Gunners to regain some form with a win at a downed Saints.
Prediction: 1-3

Premier League Predictions: Matchday 33
Saturday, 17 February
nEWCASTLE (#15, 34pts) vs lEICESTER (#9, 40pts)
Pintsized
Remember the memes mocking the signing of Chris Wood? The Kiwi gathered a vital three points for Newcastle against Wolves. Brendan Rodgers has suffered from a half-fit squad all season, so for Leicester to find themselves in #9 is not awful. A proper replacement for Vardy HAS to be found this summer after a string of niggling injuries during 2021/22.
Prediction: 2-2
Ryan
Newcastle look to be safe again after a short blip in form. They can build on a solid platform for next season. Leicester are a team that need to improve on next season although their campaign in Europe gives them something to still play for this season. With that distraction in mind, expect Newcastle to capitalise.
Prediction: 2-1
Steviano
Prediction:

wEST hAM (#6, 51pts) vs bURNLEY (#18, 24pts)
Pintsized
The battle of claret and blue. West Ham is – simply put – massive. There are few pleasures quite as scintillating as watching the Hammers stick three past Lyon on the eve of a Bank Holiday. Without Dyche, Burnley could easily sink to a humiliating 100% loss record until the end of the season. It’s hard to imagine the defensive rock at the back will be as willing to put in a shift for anyone that isn’t the gravelly-voiced Ginge.
Prediction: 2-0
Ryan
Another team with an impressive European campaign, the Hammers are shooting for the moon despite their less than stellar league form. Meanwhile welcome to the Championship Burnley. Getting rid of Sean Dyche is questionable enough but to do it with a few games to go in a relegation scrap is near suicidal. This will be the year that Burnley finally face the chop and this will be the game where West Ham get back to winning ways.
Prediction: 3-0
